  1. Saint George’s Sword (Dracaena Trifasciata):

This low maintenance house plant can grow over 10 feet long and can cope with less lighting and watering. It can also filter out chemical in the air like formaldehyde, benzene, trichloroethylene, toluene and xylene. Dracaena Trifasciata is native to tropical West Africa from Nigeria east to the Congo.

2. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is an evergreen perennial plant that originated from the Arabian Peninsula, but grows wild in tropical, semi-tropical, and arid climates around the world. The succulent plant is renowned for its numerous health benefits which includes, healing heart burns as well as improving digestive health.

3. Dracaena

Dracaena is a genus of about 120 species of trees and succulent shrubs. They also don’t require too much lighting and are excellent for newbie gardeners. The plant is native to Africa, Southern Asia and Northern Australia.

4. Jade Plant (Crassula ovata)

This is also known as the lucky plant or money tree, this is a succulent plant with small pink or white flowers. It is used as a common house plant world wide. The plant is native to KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa.

5. Ribbon Plant (Chlorophytum comosum)

This plant can grow up to 60cm. Ribbon plants are easy to grow and survive in a different conditions. They are also called Spider Ivy, hen and chicken and Spider Plant. The NASA Clean Air Study determined that this plant was effective at removing common household air toxins like formaldehyde and xylene.
